RESEARCH QUESTIONS

Work-groups consisting of technical advisors, growers, and researchers develop a strategy for each research theme and determine the research needs. This is expressed as a list of research questions.

Hortgro Science circulates a list of research questions (gap analysis) to research providers. In some instances (high priority questions) specific researchers are approached to draft research projects.

CONCEPT PROJECT

Researchers submit concept project proposals.

REVIEW

TACs (Technical Advisory Committee) review concept proposals for relevance.

NEW PROJECT PROPOSALS

Researchers are requested to submit full proposals for relevant concepts.

REVIEW AND PRIORITISE

Peer work-groups review projects for scientific soundness. TACs prioritise projects according to the research strategy.

PRESENT AND FUNDING

Hortgro Science submits a list of new projects and a budget to industry associations for funding.
